There are places I remember, All my life, though some have changed. Some forever not for better, Some have gone and some remain.
All these places had their moments, With lovers and friends, I still can recall. Some are dead and some are living, In my life, I've loved them all. -In My Life (The Beatles)-
The Derek I remember from High School was shy and a very nice guy. I remember how shocked he was when he was chosen to be on the Prom Court. He couldn't believe it. A lot of music I enjoyed in High School , it was Derek who was the first person to play the album for me. I remember him telling me about Blood Sweat and Tears, the first Led Zepplin LP and Jimi Hendrix. Of course Derek was a huge Beatles & Doors fan. Some of my best memories in High School were hanging with Derek, Har & Glenn. RIP Derek. You were one of a kind.
My memories of Derek and my best friend Don B were times spent together alot and always seemed to be on a different level regarding Music and growing up in the 60's. Derek's view of many things were complex on several levels. What an interesting individual and I sadly miss him often!
